Thursday 18th October 2007 - evening
The weather was nice and clear earlier on for
my walk into Easedale and the evening proved to be equally
as good. This isn't the fell Barrow in the lakes but the
town at the south of Cumbria where I live. Walney Island,
just off Barrow, has some stunning views and often has
glorious sunsets out over the Irish Sea and tonight was no
exception when we walked along the beach and captured some
of the local scenes.

There was an eerie, golden light at dusk from Walney
Island, here looking out to Barrow Offshore Windfarm.

Great skies looking north to Black Combe along the
shore from Biggar Bank.

Big cloud over the windfarm.

Looking to Black Combe from further along the beach at
West Shore.

Sunset on Black Combe with Silecroft windfarm at its
foot.

Connie was enjoying this lovely evening.

Heading back to the mainland as dusk fell, here
looking from Jubilee Bridge there were stunning reflections on Walney
Channel with Black Combe on the horizon.

I can't remember it being so calm.

Then crossing from Barrow Island to Barrow, the docks
were also calm as this reflected crane shows.

The large building to the left is where the Royal Navy
submarines are built. The lights to the far left are along the gangplank
of the newly launched Astute submarine.
